Alex Salvaris

From multi-million dollar property sales and acquisitions to negotiating agreements for lease and large scale property developments, Alex has over 40 years’ of experience in property and commercial law.

Since commencing as an articled clerk to David K Malcolm AC QC (former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of WA), Alex has carved out a career which saw him appointed as a Partner of Freehills (now Herbert Smith Freehills) in 1982. In 1995 he joined national law firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques (now King & Wood Mallesons) as a Partner where he remained for 10 years until joining WSR Law.

Alex’s areas of expertise lie predominantly in property law where he has acted as principal adviser on a broad range of major commercial and other property based transactions and projects. These include:

• Acquisitions and disposals of office buildings, shopping centres and development sites across Australia, as individual transactions and in relation to public floatations and creation of property trusts.
• Joint venture property developments and joint ownership arrangements.
• Acquisitions and sales of businesses held by way of companies and trusts, including preparation of shareholders' and unitholders' agreements.
• CBD and other office, commercial building and shopping centre developments, including drafting and negotiating agreements for lease and leases for turn key developments and whole of building and anchor tenant occupancies.
• Residential and development projects and other land subdivisions.
